I use Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS (Focal Fossa)<br>
and sane: scanimage (sane-backends) 1.0.29; backend version 1.0.29<br>

After P2P exchanges with Thierry, it appears that the sane
homepage is incorrect regarding this scanner: pixmap backend
should be used in USB mode, while ESCL should be used in Wifi. In
both cases the scanner seems tested OK (not by me).<br>
Ticket #492, created in gitlab sane project.<br>

the Canon Pixmap TR7500 (inkjet printer scanner) is reported as
untested, and indeed does not work properly.
I think that I have properly configured Ubuntu and sane, because xsane
detects the scanner (twice, on ports 80 and 443) and it acquires the
preview correctly (either in grey or in color). But I tried several
kinds of scan colors and resolutions, and each time xsane froze or crashed.
I can contribute to testing but I need some guiding and directives.
