> Hi, I'm having some trouble with tuxpaint, tuxmath and tuxtype on qimo 2.0(all updates installed) but problems started at initial install. In tuxpaint i can use the app but when i go to quit the app freezes and will not let me save or quit. If i run tuxpaint --nosound it runs without problem.(sound is working on the machine through alsa mixer) When i run tuxmath and tuxtype the screen starts flashing to a black screen then back to the app. Not sure where to start with this. Hope someone can help.
Hey Jim. This is probably a compatibility problem with a
combination of SDL, ALSA and PulseAudio.
See: http://tuxpaint.org/docs/known_issues/
Basically, you can either (1) remove PulseAudio (what I've done
on my Ubuntu 9.04 system, and it behaves a LOT better), or
(2) install the PulseAudio backend for SDL (versus ALSA, which
then talks to PulseAudio). On Debian, for example, this package
does it: libsdl1.2debian-pulseaudio
For more, see:

If this doesn't turn out to be the issue at hand, or the
suggestions don't fix it, please let us know! Good luck!
