I haven't worked on tuxtype for several years, but I installed in just<br>
now on my ubuntu 18.04 machine and it starts correctly. I do know<br>
that ~/.tuxtype/settings.txt is not a required file - it's been a<br>
while, but from what I recall we just used that to save some<br>
additional config settings. I got the same message on startup about<br>
that file not being found, but the program then launched successfully<br>
and all the main activities work.<br>

I'm pretty sure your real error is the next line from Xorg. I'm<br>
afraid I'm not able to help much with that. Tuxtype and tuxmath both<br>
use SDL 1.2, which is now pretty dated. I guess you can see if<br>
tuxmath installs and runs.<br>

I'm cc'ing the tuxpaint list as tuxpaint is still actively developed,<br>
and someone there may know more about issues related to SDL and Xorg.<br>
