[3dprinter-general] Packaging printrun

Hi everyone,

I'm writing to this list because I would like to contribute to package
printrun, which I believe is a program handled by this team.

I guess I should introduce myself a little first, my real name is
Alvaro and although I've been using Debian for a bunch of years now
I've never packaged anything, so every bit of advice and guidance would
be more than welcome. I own a reprap and I use printrun to control it
with slic3r for slicing. I was really surprised when I didn't find
printrun in the debian repository and I think it would be very
beneficial for debian uses to have it there.

More than two years ago on the bug #695336 [1], Nicolas Dandrimont said
he would take over the packaging. Has there been any work? Need any
help? I could not find printrun in the team's page on alioth.

I've been messing around with packaging this for a while starting from
the previous work done by Richard Ulrich and Scott Howard (see [2]).
Since this work is almost 3 years old now I started from scratch
reusing whatever I found useful. I'm storing the progress on GitHub too
(see [3]). But for a few lintian-pedantic warnings the package
currently installs and runs properly on a fresh install of Debian on a
VM.

I have no clue of what should I do now, what the “standard procedure”
would be. If there's anyway I could collaborate on this I would be more
than happy to.

Regards,
Alvaro
