Thanks for your report.

The missing packages are recommended.

They are only recommended since the non-GUI functionality of the package 
does work without these packages.

Whether these should be recommends or dependencies is a valid question, 
and as far as I can see both choices would be reasonable maintainer[1] 
choices in this case.
