libCharon originally contained a system service that we installed together with the rest of the Python library in version 4.x.
Upstream confirmed that this service was never intended to be installed on desktop systems, as it was designed for Ultimaker's own device firmware.

We removed all traces of this service (including the dbus config) in 5.0.0-4, and it no longer affects trixie. Unless there's a really compelling reason to backport it to bookworm, we won't be pushing an update for this.

Sorry about that!

Regards,
Gregor
