Hmmm I would guesss /var/log/amavis/amavis.log is the best location for an
amavisd-new logfile - I would propose to add a note to README.Debian which
states that the admin should create /var/log/amavis and chown it to the amavisd
user, then copy over the example script to the logrotate directory and finally
insert the options $DO_SYSLOG = 0; and $LOGFILE = "/var/log/amavis/amavis.log";
into the amavisd-new config. It may also be possible and feasable to provide a
simple snipplet which can accomplish the same thing when using rsyslog - if you
think that one or both of these things makes sense I would prepare this for the
next release (Alex can I savely commit such changes without intefering with
your current work?).
Bye
