[Android-tools-devel] Bug#827216: android-sdk: Process 'command 'aapt'' finished with non-zero exit value 134

Dear Maintainers,

I'm trying to build a sample app with the SDK by running 'gradle build'. App is available at [1].

After putting in the files mentioned in Bug #827214 and Bug #827215, the next failure is:
Execution failed for task ':processDebugResources'.
> com.android.ide.common.process.ProcessException: org.gradle.process.internal.ExecException: Process 'command '/usr/lib/android-sdk/build-tools/23.0.2/aapt'' finished with non-zero exit value 134

I ran 'gradle build --debug', which printed the full command being run, with all arguments.
Trying to run that manually results in a 'Abort' message,
and running strace shows it crashing just after reading the AndroidManifest file.

I tried this with the android.jar built by [2], and also with the upstream
version from [3], both fail, so that could be ruled out.

The version of aapt I'm using is "1:6.0.1+r43-1", which is unreleased [4] at the
time of filing this bug report.
