[Android-tools-devel] Bug#894285: some progress

I can get some of this compiling with openjdk-11, but not all.

Ok, here's a fun problem: looks like I can build android-platform-23
with java11, but since it is in effect building Java core classes, the
compiler freaks.

There seems to be something like --patch-module java.base=src to deal
with this
but that won't work with sourceCompatibility 1.8
and Android wasn't Java9 until the most most recent release (9.0.0)
so... anyone have some ideas for alternate approaches?
