[Android-tools-devel] android-tools git repo a bit messed up

Hey,

Thanks to whoever packaged 5.1.1+git20150904-1, that was very helpful. I managed to build it from source, even though it's not yet in Debian, and verified that it works. :)

Anyway, this email is just to point out that the git repo is a bit messed up:

https://anonscm.debian.org/cgit/android-tools/android-tools.git/log/?h=5.1.1%2bgit20150904-1

Instead of committing the new package directly on top of the "master" branch, there should have been:

1. an 'Imported Upstream version 5.1.1+git20150904' commit on the "upstream" branch, which should have then been merged into the "master" branch.
2. then further edits to the debian/* packaging files on top of this commit.

Otherwise this interferes with the normal gbp(1) workflow, which is how the original maintainers intended that repository to be used.

X
