Do not use http://dev.graffit.net/aptitude/hg, use:
http://hg.debian.org/hg/aptitude/post-lenny

If you follow the hg head, there are a few more build-time and run-time
dependencies than on the experimental package. Just do whatever the
./configure script tells you to do.
