Is this ok given that atleast pkgsel (d-i component) still uses aptitude?

(lines 85 and 148; this usage could be replaced with apt-get)

I am not able to locate any dependency on aptitude from pkgsel or it's
dependencies.  Presumably it is pulled in with base-install via
debootstrap, due to it's (previous) priority.
