Hello,

Thank you for your interest in improving Debian, and sorry to keep the
bug unattended for so long. There's now an effort to review the open
bugs related with aptitude and resume development.

I cannot reproduce the crash mentioned in the second e-mail (the one
with Files tab of uninstalled packages), however it crashes in the
same situation when clicking on "Changelog" tab instead:

----------
aptitude-gtk: /usr/include/boost/smart_ptr/shared_ptr.hpp:418:
boost::shared_ptr<T>::reference boost::shared_ptr<T>::operator*()
const [with T = aptitude::apt::changelog_info,
boost::shared_ptr<T>::reference = aptitude::apt::changelog_info&]:
Assertion `px != 0' failed.
Aborted
----------

It would be helpful if you could provide a more up-to-date and
complete list of things that fail with the current aptitude versions,
which can be reproduced with concrete steps.

I'm not sure if they will be tackled in the near future, since
aptitude lacks man-power/knowledge in the GTK front, but it'll help to
have a list of things failing for anybody stepping up.

Regards.
