Hi

I have just uploaded 0.6.6-1 to mentors.d.n.

http://mentors.debian.net/package/aptitude

As usual, this version is looking for a sponser to upload it after
giving the package a good testing.

There are a few bug fixes and internal changes, though the big news
here is basic multi-arch support.

This is done similar to the early multi-arch support in apt 0.8 with
foreign-arch packages being shown as "name:arch". Users of
single-arch systems will not notice much difference. See NEWS for the
details.

It would be appreciated if people testing this version keep an eye on
the multi-arch changes. There are still some noticable deficiencies
due to the internal model of APT, but most should agree the the
situation is a strong improvement. The idea is to release this
version now to have working multi-arch support and continue to clean
up the problem areas in the future.

The GTK+ interface is no longer shipped with this release. It can be
still be built from the source.

The man pages have moved in to the alternatives, and so are now
supplied as aptitude-curses.8.gz. Users upgrading may receive a
one-time warning from update-alternatives about the link group being
stale.

Finally, last time it was hoped to split arch-independent files in to
a new package aptitude-common. The final details of this proved more
difficult, so this has been put off for a future release.

Regards
