These are the files in /etc/apt/apt.conf.d/

/etc/apt/apt.conf.d$ ls
00CDMountPoint 01autoremove 20adequate 20dbus
20packagekit 70debconf 00trustcdrom 10apt-listbugs
20apt-show-versions 20listchanges 50unattended-upgrades

There is no /etc/apt/apt.d.conf .

I tried to use both dpkg -S and apt-file list to see if I could get
ownership from which packages they are but was unsuccessful with both
approaches.

/etc/apt/apt.conf.d$ dpkg -S /etc/apt/apt.conf.d/00CDMountPoint
dpkg-query: no path found matching pattern /etc/apt/apt.conf.d/00CDMountPoint

/etc/apt/apt.conf.d$ dpkg -S /etc/apt/apt.conf.d/00trustcdrom
dpkg-query: no path found matching pattern /etc/apt/apt.conf.d/00trustcdrom

as well as :-

/etc/apt/apt.conf.d$ apt-file list 00CDMountPoint
/etc/apt/apt.conf.d$

/etc/apt/apt.conf.d$ apt-file list 20dbus
/etc/apt/apt.conf.d$

Dunno if there is a hook or not, maybe somebody can enlighten me if
it's there or not.
