[Aptitude-devel] Bug#701490: aptitude: Part of the text "DL Size: 107 MB" truncated, at least in sv_SE.utf8 locale

The text "DL Size: 107 MB" or similar (upper right corner) indicates how 
much
data will be downloaded. It is sometimes interesting, but often 
truncated and
useless. Here is one example in Swedish locale:

$ export LC_MESSAGES="sv_SE.utf8"
$ sudo aptitude

In English locale the most important part is not truncated:

Here only some letters from "disk space" (I guess) are truncated.
Now I'm using xfce4-terminal 0.4.5-1, but I had the problem also in gnome-
terminal. (Reportbug indicates "Terminal: xterm" below, strange.)
If I resize the window I still can't see how much data will be 
downloaded, but
the text line moves horizontally in some strange ways. If I click the 
mouse on
the line it will often move back in place.

I expected this to work better, but it didn't:
$ export LC_MESSAGES="sv_SE.iso88591"

I (try to) attach two pictures indicating how it looks in my terminal 
window.

I have seen this problem for years.
