Hi,

I don't know exactly how it was the situation ~9 years ago when this
bug report was submitted, but nowadays the "changelog" functionality
pretty much behaves in that way, downloading the changelog of the
candidate version and highlighting the changes since the installed
version.  So I think that it covers at least the main use case.

Even if there are differences, I think that having two options in the
menu side by side doing basically the same would be a bit confusing,
so I don't think that this should be implemented now.

I am marking this as +moreinfo in the case that somebody can provide a
compelling case as for why this should be implemented.
