Please explicitly list these packages. 

"aptitude why" on each of the expected-to-be-purged packages would be
interesting, too.

JFTR: I can imagine cases where the issue you are reporting is correct
and expected behaviour. But it depends a lot on the already installed
packages. So please provide the above information.
