I think that this problem is more related to apt/libapt, that aptitude
uses.  I had a similar setup during the past couple of years and I
haven't noticed any similar problem.


Does it still continue to happen in your system?

If yes, can you test if it still happens with apt 1.1 recently uploaded
to unstable?
