[Aptitude-devel] Bug#807852: aptitude fails when home dir does not exist (sbuild)

Vagrant Cascadian vagrant at debian.org

Package: aptitude
Version: 0.7.5-2
Severity: important

In a clean sid schroot, aptitude fails when the homedir doesn't exist:

# HOME=/nonexistant/ aptitude install bash
E: Could not create directory: /nonexistant//.cache: boost::filesystem::create_directory: No such file or directory: "/nonexistant//.cache"

This causes sbuild with schroot to using the aptitude backend to fail,
as it sets HOME=/sbuild-nonexistent.
