I am not sure how it was the situation when you filed this request, but
nowadays aptitude command line has why and why-not, and if there are
conflicts, missing dependencies or other problems when installing.  In
particular, "aptitude install package" already lists such problems.

Can you please confirm if you are now satisfied with the behaviour, or
what is missing from your point of view, with a real example of a
package and the messages in apt and aptitude?
