It would be useful if you could report bugs with reportbug, which
includes a bunch of information like dependencies of the libraries that
aptitude uses.

It is particularly interesting the version of apt that you are using,
since 1.1 is in experimental and you are using that (or attempting to
retrieve it).  It looks to me like this problem is more related to apt
than to aptitude.

If you are indeed using apt-1.1, can you please downgrade to the version
in unstable and see if this fixes the problem?
