Perhaps the barely visible 'I' can be used for this, I don't know how
well it works in practice.

(It probably should be added to menus and maybe needs better
documentation).


Also, you can use '+' and then selectively remove/purge the Recommends
planned to be installed, I think that it shuold work fine, and in most
cases would be less taxing than editing the file.
