Did you try the solutions above?  Using them with aptitude should work,
if not, please let me know.


If a package really Depends on another one, none of these solutions
would work (including setting them within aptitude).  The package that
depends on the one not to be installed cannot be installed without them.
It would only be valid for recommends.
