Going out of aptitude (needs suspending, but no need to quit aptitude)
and edit a file with one's favourite editor --something that doesn't
happen every day or every week-- shouldn't be that much of a problem.

Duplicating this functionality in aptitude has its consequences, even if
only diverting time from solving other problems.  Maintaining it over
the years, documenting and translating it is not "free" either.

Since a while ago can be done with:

  apt edit-sources


So I am closing it as wontfix, after 9+ years and no indication that
this is going to be solved now.
