Can you please also provide "aptitude show qalculate-gtk"? That's more
relevant here.

Because this looks totally legit behaviour and "works as intended" if
qalculate-gtk has the "Automatically installed: yes" flag. Because in
contrary to apt, aptitude removes all unused dependencies
automatically by default. (And that's not a bug, that's a feature. A
configurable feature, i.e. you can turn it of if you want.)

The only "issue" I see in that case is that aptitude doesn't yet
supports APT's APT::Move-Autobit-Sections setting (at least an "git
grep -i Move-Autobit-Sections" yielded nothing in aptitude's source
code), i.e. it marks dependencies of transitional packages as
automatically installed as it does with all other packages installed
due to being needed as dependency, too.

If qalculate-gtk was not marked as automatically installed, that's
probably a bug. (But I must say that I doubt that it's this case. Such
a bug would have been reported much more earlier as it would probably
uninstall quite a lot of packages unexpectedly.)

I currently see no error which needs to be fixed, especially no error
message. The only thing I see here is a potentially missing feature
and an otherwise perfectly working aptitude.

Thanks to Mattia for making me aware of that bug report.
