Thanks for that bug report!
I can reproduce this on Debian Sid as well as on Debian 9 Stretch, but
not on Debian 8 Jessie. So it seems to be a regression introduced
between 0.6.11-1 and 0.8.7-1.
Manuel: I assume this can fixed by making that check only look for ~
at the beginning of the string or after blanks and exclamation marks.
(Or maybe just not after numbers and probably also not after letters.)
