Well it already happened on two of my machines.
I still have one machine in town that I will make a note of doing
aptitude-create-state-bundle for you first, and waiting for your reply
until fixing... but it might be months before I go there.
As far a fdisk (which I use every few months), yes I(?) installed it 20
years ago so it was quite a surprise to see it suddenly on the chopping
block.
