Can i ask if there is a plan to apply this patch? or is aptitude being
dropped?

in case user feedback is helpful, i really like it as a frontend, (the TUI
and "aptitude why" and "aptitide show" are much better than any equivalents
provided by apt). but the solver parts are not useful to me - maybe it
could just be a frontend to apt, which might be easier to maintain?
