Robert Bradley has been working the atomic update problem and also
noticing some issues with flushing the ipv6 route cache on linux 3.5:

https://lists.bufferbloat.net/pipermail/cerowrt-devel/2013-April/001155.html

His branch of babeld is at:

git://github.com/rb12345/babeld.git

I can toss all the related patches into cerowrt's next release, but
presently cero uses the quagga implementation of babel and is kernel
3.8.8 based
