A quick fix is available here:

    https://github.com/hosiet/fqterm

Please use git-buildpackage and pristine-tar to build the package.

Alternatively, please try downloading dsc from deb-o-matic:

   http://debomatic-amd64.debian.net/debomatic/unstable/pool/fqterm_0.9.8.3.r4-1/fqterm_0.9.8.3.r4-1.dsc

Changes since last upload:

fqterm (0.9.8.3.r4-1) unstable; urgency=medium

  * Team upload.
  * Add myself into uploaders list.
  * New upstream release.
    - Fix build failure with GCC 6. (Closes: #811872)
  * Remove LI Daobing from uploader list.
    Thanks for all your contribution! (Closes: #841806)
  * Bump Standards-Version to 3.9.8, no change needed.
  * d/control: Move project homepage from Google Code to GitHub.
  * d/control: Fix debian/watch file url.
  * d/control: Make Vcs field canonical.
  * d/copyright: Update information and grammar fix.
  * debian: Remove legacy menu file.
  * debian: Apply `wrap-and-sort -abst'.
  * d/patches: Drop outdated gcc-4.7 related patch.

fqterm (0.9.6.10-1.1) unstable; urgency=low

  * Non maintainer upload.
  * Fix build failure with GCC 4.7. Closes: #667169.

A few explanations:

  * This is a fork of the original Google Code project, which stopped
development
in 2014. This fork is recommended by the original development team, as suggested
on the Google Code project archive page.
  * FTBFS with openssl 1.1.0 won't be fixed since stretch will include openssl
1.0.2. Awaiting upstream response and patch.
  * Added myself into uploaders list to prevent lintian error
("no-human-maintainers").
Tell me if you find it inappropriate.
  * Did not touch debhelper compat version and cdbs buildsystem. Those
changes would be too large and can be postponed.
  * Failed piuparts check on deb-o-matic is a false alarm. See the log
for detailed
information.

The build passes on amd64 and i386 platform. I tested the new version of fqterm
and everything seems to be working correctly.

Sincerely,
Boyuan Yang
