Package: libcupt3-0
Version: 2.8.4
Severity: minor
During today's upgrade I noticed install-info was going to be upgraded
and I remembered that package was pretty much unneeded in most cases. I
decided to check whether that was the case on my system:
cupt> why install-info
cgdb 0.6.7-2^installed: Depends: dpkg (>= 1.15.4) | install-info
cupt> purge install-info
Building the package cache...
Initializing package resolver and worker...
Scheduling requested actions...
Resolving possible unmet dependencies...
The following packages will be purged:
info install-info(a)
Action summary:
1 manually installed and 1 automatically installed packages will be purged
Need to get 0B/0B of archives. After unpacking 615KiB will be freed.
Do you want to continue? [y/N/q/a/rc/?] q
Abandoned or no more solutions.
Since info has a direct Depends relationship on install-info, I would
expect that to be reported rather than the alternative relationship that
cgdb has, especially since cgdb's primary alternative (dpkg >= 1.15.4) is
satisfied.
