Calling 'invoke-rc.d foo start' without a prior 'db_stop' will
cause the entire apt/dpkg process chain to just hang forever at 0%CPU.

Yes, I just did that, but…

… it does feel like a hack to me.

See my other eMail for another idea that came to me while debugging
this. Maybe that could work.
