I can't seem to reproduce this - I get a window appearing with a
plausible looking image and histogram.  Output to the terminal is:

If I run under valgrind no problems are reported.

I just adjusted "Build-Depends:" of the package currently in unstable
and rebuilt.  Perhaps the problem is specific to the development branch?
