Dear Graham,
I think the fail is result of linking of different versions of zlib via
dependent libraries.
Correct me, if I'm wrong, fitspng has the dependences:
Build-Depends: debhelper-compat (= 13), libcfitsio-dev, libpng-dev
zlib is indirectly linked via both libraries.
Currently, in unstable, libcfitsio-dev runtime depends on libcfitsio10,
which depends on
zlib1g (>= 1:1.1.4)
while, libpng-dev on zlib1g-dev so
zlib1g (= 1:1.3.dfsg-3)
The status is a little bit complicated, libpng16-16 has also
dependence on zlib1g (>= 1:1.2.11.dfsg).
I have no idea how to solve the trouble, and if it is solvable
due potential dependence both the libraries on a particulal
version of zlib.
Regards,
FH
