Dear Wiki user,

The "DebianEdu/Status/Stretch" page has been changed by HolgerLevsen:
https://wiki.debian.org/DebianEdu/Status/Stretch?action=diff&rev1=93&rev2=94

Comment:
remove _information about kde_ from status page, emphasize we need to document the desktop switch

  (Once these are [[DebianEdu/Documentation/Stretch|documented]] please move them to a done-list further down on this age…)

+ * MATE is the new default desktop. We need to make sure to explain this change well.
   * Icinga2 is now used as monitoring tool (but is currently missing in testing).
   * ksnapshot has been replaced with kde-spectacle as screenshot tool.
   * LTSP now uses NBD instead of NFS for the root filesystem. After each single change to an LTSP chroot, the related NBD image must be regenerated for the changes to take effect.

- * Seems KDE 5.8.2 are default desktop, which is the most MS Windows like desktop making easy transition to GNU/Linux desktop. KDE 5 has cleaned up a lot of library issues, using much less memory. It's LibreOffice and specially browsers like Firefox and Chrome which uses a lot of memory.
   * we want to be able to install Debian Edu with d-i from cdimage.debian.org. Currently the status of this is somewhat lost again…
   * Fix KDE favorites configuration.
   * Check/update documentation.
