thanks for pointing this out, I've removed this code now. If you happen
to know more related code, feel free to either drop it directly or point
it out on the list again.

the answer to the latter statement is 'no' (we have a dedicated stretch
branch for d-e-config) and to answer the former statement: I do not plan
to upload d-e-c before src:debian-installer hasnt been uploaded (and
thus fixing #923675) *and* proven working by test reports. 

"Luckily" bugs like #916690 and #914297 and the discussions on -devel@
and planet made sure that many people are aware of the problem, thus I'm
positive we can drop our workaround once the proper fix for that problem
is proven to be working.
