I believe he is one of package's co-maintainer and should be granted with
repository write access immediately without any hesitation.

FYI As package lmms's last NMU uploader, I've been monitoring the status of
lmms in Debian; I own a personal packaging repo,
https://salsa.debian.org/byang/lmms ,
which contains some preliminary work for porting to Qt5. I hope that helps.
