Poor Cambodian families have no choice but to send their children to work. 

Cambodia is a country still struggling today to rebuild itself after years of war and the near complete eradication of the educated preceding generation. Nearly half of all Cambodian children are malnourished and one in eight dies before their 5th birthday due to preventable causes 
Nearly 34% of all Cambodians survive on less than a dollar a day. Poor Cambodian families have no choice but to send their children to work as beggars, maids, tin can collectors and far worse, for as little as 25 cents a day.
