call for translation updates for Debian Flyer

The Italian translation is almost ready, I only have one question. On 
line 19 I found this comment:

     %   translation-check translation="1.16"

I can't really understand how I should update it. Reading 
translation-check.pl I think it's related to VCS, so, since we're using 
git now, I guess I can remove it (just like RCS stuff was). Is it so?
