Hi,

[this message not (yet) posted to debian-events-eu : let's see if
sending this to a smaller audience gets us somewhere.]

TL;DR: who is willing to take care of distributing Debian flyers /
leaflets (see https://debian.pages.debian.net/debian-flyers/ ) to
suitable places (e.g. universities, local community centers, free
software events like e.g. the ones listed at https://lwn.net/Calendar/
, ...)? Do contact me!

As of march 2026 I have in total about 1400 flyers in stock, in
Tilburg, Netherlands. They're A4 format, double sided, "170grs mc"
paper thickness, printed in black and 2 tones of red.

About 700 copies / 7 kg / a pile of 10 cm of German / French flyers:
"Das universelle Betriebssystem" / "Le système d'exploitation
universel".

About 500 copies / 5 kg / 7 cm of English / Dutch flyers: "The
Universal Operating System" / "Het universele besturingssysteem".

About 200 copies / 2 kg / 3 cm of English flyers: "Debian Social
Contract" / "The Debian Free Software Guidelines (DFSG)".

Thanks to translators: Helge Kreutzmann, Baptiste Jammet, JP
Guillonneau, Anne Bezemer and others. Thanks to our DPL and to Debian
France for dealing with money. Thanks to our donators for their help
in making this possible.

And, also: Thanks to Konstantin Tyurin, Paulo Henrique de Lima Santana,
Ceppo and Troels Frostholm Mogensen we _also_ have updated translations
in Swedish, Portuguese, Italian and Danish. I _might_ have time to
order some printing of flyers in those languages. But for that to be
useful, I'd need somebody to take care of distributing those flyers to
suitable places. Volunteers?

I myself will transport and/or hand out flyers at MiniDebConf Hamburg
in may, at t-dose.org near Eindhoven, .nl in june, probably at LocHal
Open Source Event Tilburg, end of this year, and at FOSDEM Brussels in
feb 2027.

Anyway, ideally all this material should be handed out to the public
before the end of 2027.

Thanks for your time!

Bye,

Joost
