I guess you can try to manually subscribe the mailing list to
debian-handbook-translators at alioth-lists.debian.net (via
https://alioth-lists.debian.net/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/debian-handbook-translators).

You will have to reply to the confirmation mail sent to
debian-l10n-italian at lists.debian.org.

But you should likely discuss this on debian-l10n-italian at lists.debian.org
before going ahead. Not sure that everybody would welcome that (even if
this list is rather low volume).
