There is no `compatibility' between fonts.

Oh. well, but that is because some people insist on implementing the
same specifications (The Unicode Specifications) in their own way.

Due to the inability of arriving at a consensus on whether the chillus
are `consonantq + chandrakkala + zwj' or just consonant +
Chandrakkala, (and other issues) the Unicode consortium finally
decided to encode them.

Therefore, the issues are already sorted out for us. (see above).

IMHO, Anjali Old Lipi fonts and KDE combination shows the
closest-to-correct rendering.

And just FYI, the author of Anjali Old Lipi (and several others,
including me) considered the problems with Rachana to be bugs in the
Rachana font. Being GPL, the athor of Anjali Old lipi decided to fix
the Rachana font, but Rachana's authors threatened him withq copyright
violations. The response was to create Anjali Old Lipi fonts.

And yes, pango does not implement the Unicode Standards on Chillus
correctly. But that is my opinion. Some may insist that pango's
implementation is correct.
