Well, there is no reason as the package no longer provide any
defoma-related crap.
So, I suspect an upgrade path where this purge failed to happen, for
an unknown reason.
In any case, if both the following do *not* leave any trace of defoma,
I'd recommend downgrading this nug to "normal":
- install the package on a clean system, then purge it
- install the version from lenny, upgrade, then purge
