Try to snip off parts of mail which is not required while replying
and try to answer inline. To keep the mail cleans any way the threads in
mailing list software will always have history, so by not snipping you
are actually over posting :-).

I checked it but there are more rough edges see below

I would suggest using 3.9.4 as this is not target for Wheezy.

There is no way you will be monitoring new upstream release you can use
watch file to monitor new version but since it is not tarball you need
to create tarball yourself by using get-orig-source: target in
debian/rules file. You can find more about this target in debian-policy
document. Use latest file which is either available online or if you are
using unstable then you can install debian-policy package.

Try to document all changes you do in changelog file.
