Hello,

A lot of the files in this source package require Python scripts in the
tools/ subdirectory in order to regenerate them from their preferred
form of modification.

However, these scripts have python2 shebangs. So if python2 is removed
from Debian, this package will cease to be DFSG-free, because it will
not be possible to regenerate the files using only tools present in the
Debian archive.

Thus, I believe that conversion of these scripts to python3 blocks
python2 removal in Debian. I'm attempting to file this bug with the
right metadata; please excuse me if I didn't get it right, as I'm not
really involved in the python2 removal efforts.
