I'm the upstream author and also the package maintainer, and this 
project has been archived and abandoned for over a year now.

Also, popcon says that it's not very popular.

So I think it's time to remove the package from Debian, along with its 
friends glewlwyd and iddawc (also archived), rather than trying to fix 
it, because without maintenance, there will probably be more and more 
build problems over time.
