Package: itools
Version: 1.0-3
Severity: minor
Tags: l10n
ipraytime ignores my en_GB.UTF-8 locale and outputs its prayer
schedules in ISO-8859-1, so the DEGREE SIGNs in its lattitude,
longitude, and qibla lines instead appear in my terminal as
REPLACEMENT CHARACTERs:
Prayer schedule for,
City : Makkah
Latitude : 021 25' 14" N
Longitude : 039 49' 49" E
Angle Method : Umm Al-Qurra University
TimeZone : UTC+3.0
Qibla : 067 26' 21" W of true North
[...]
I'm no C programmer, but I doubt it should be defining the degree
symbol unconditionally at ipraytime.c line 463 as:
const char symb = (char)0xB0;
Workaround: "ipraytime | iconv -f iso-9959-1 -t utf-8". I'd call it
"Severity: wishlist" if this was 2004, and "normal" if it affected
other binaries in the package.
