That's perfectly fine for me.  I simply would be happy if this would be
cleaned up in BTS (for instance by either tagging the bug `wontfix` or
even close it.

I perfextly trust your opinion.  Its just not obvious for someone who
stumbles upon old open bugs and wants to help. 

And as I said regarding the package:  Please find some Uploader and
upload or consider removing the package if you think it does not have
any use for your workflow.  While I have some slight personal preference
for a clean upload I will also here trust your insight what might be the
best option.
