[debian-lan-devel] git repositories and their backup

Hello everybody,
the current setup uses dirvish to backup /etc, /srv/fai/config, /root
and /lan/mainserver/home0. However, /etc and the fai config space
are at the same time git repositories, so all history is already
present in git and is 'doubled' by preparing daily backups.
To save space, we could
* not backup .git
* only backup .git (all stuff needs to be checked in)
* only copy the directory every day, history is in git
* backup all as usual, but with shorter expiry dates
Any other ideas?
Best regards,
Andi
